Église San Pietro in Mavino, Sirmione (II)

San Pietro in Mavino, Sirmione, acrylic on print
Acrylique sur tirage imprimante, 15 x 10 cm (mars 2011).
Acrylic on print, 6 x 4 in.

The idea was playing with colors on the drawing made on location in Sirmione , in the mood of the monotypes by Stuart Shils (I don't compare, for sure…) Without press, I just printed the drawing on photo paper and then played with acrylic, scraping and drawing felt lines.

The original drawing was made listening to Le Sette Chiese, by french composer Bruno Mantovani.

Interesting painting. I'm off to visit Stuart Shils to understand more of what you were trying to do.

My best advice: visit Stuart Shils paintings drawings monotypes and so on - and forget about what I was trying to do! He is one of the most powerful painter I discovered these recent years!
And thanks always for your interest.
