Tour en ruine (II), Le Thord, Saint-Haon

Gouache, 9 x 18 cm, 3.5 x 7 in (août 2010).

Back in Velay, on the cliff of Le Thord, with its ruined tower perched on vertigo. The composition is different but it doesn't work better... Too much sluggish and timid, no?

Some ink, felt pen and gouache studies of the same.

6,5 x 13 cm chaque, 2.5 x 5.1 in each.

I think I prefer the directness and composition of the of the first version. Or maybe its because at hte moment I'm struggling with gouache and admire the way you handle that medium.

J'aime beaucoup !

I like that you've kept your loose style but still retained some detail is this one.
