Gouache on print, 8 x 8 in.

It started as a small walk on a small road. And inevitably, our boots attacked the (extinct) volcano , ascending, descending, in the red and grey earth and stones, under the blue cover of the burning sky. With our sons who don’t know what is vertigo – happy ones! – the place quickly became "our crater". Though raptors defending their nest suggested that the name was not completely controlled…
Painted, repainted, scanned, printed, triturated on a felt pen sketch done on location.

Original sketches, felt pen and ink on the spot and in the heat.

It seems a very active volcano in this painint. I like the sploshes of red like lava escaping.

Lovely. I especially like the reds in the foreground.
